— Meet Kate —

Hi! I’m Kate Natoli. I’m a registered dietitian specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and adolescent health. I work with adults, adolescents, and families to identify harmful thought patterns and behaviors around food. I take a weight-inclusive approach to helping clients develop healthy and sustainable habits. I believe nutrition work is deeply personal and should be tailored to each individual’s needs. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to nutrition. Most of all, I believe there’s room for all types of foods in a healthy diet.

My Story

After receiving my undergraduate degree from Marymount Manhattan, I worked with children for several years, across various special education settings. My passion for food and nutrition, combined with a Celiac disease diagnosis in 2008, led me to pursue a graduate degree in nutrition at Russell Sage College. During my graduate studies, I served as a college nutrition counselor, a position that exposed me to the intricacies of eating disorder treatment and underscored the pivotal role of nutrition in recovery. Additionally, I had the privilege of advising a chapter of Project HEAL in upstate New York, further solidifying my commitment to aiding clients on their journey towards healing from eating disorders.

Following the completion of my dietetic internship, I assumed the position of lead clinical dietitian at Monte Nido River Towns, a residential facility specializing in eating disorder treatment. My work at Monte Nido provided invaluable training with some of the most respected professionals in the eating disorder field. I also learned the importance of the interdisciplinary team in providing good patient care. This experience taught me important lessons about the intersection between mental health and challenges related to eating and body image.

While at Monte Nido, I joined a private New York City-based nutrition practice. In private practice, I broadened my expertise to include the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, autoimmune disorders, and food allergies/intolerances. Drawing upon my background in special education, I integrated behavioral modification strategies into client interventions. I also began working with families, an aspect of treatment that became close to my heart as a new mom. I eventually expanded my role in private practice to supervising and training other registered dietitians. This journey has reinforced my dedication to empowering individuals to cultivate healthier relationships with food.

I started seeing Kate when I was 18, after over a year of restricting and bingeing. My relationship with food and my body was severed and through my four years working with Kate, I recovered in ways that I didn’t think would be possible. I socialize freely now, enjoying meals with friends without a nagging feeling that I need to be tracking my eating. I am able to travel the world, experiencing the food that different cultures have to offer. Kate helped me grow into the strongest version of myself. She is kind, understanding, hilarious, personable, and wickedly smart. Each week, I felt comfortable being entirely honest and I never once felt judged, which was hugely important to my recovery. I am forever grateful.
